Team Background
The Sparks were formed in the fall of 2006 for the 06-07 season as a U12 level 2 girls traveling team. They had troubles with their fall season and while they did win a couple of the matches scheduled for them they weren't able to win any games in the two tournaments they attended.
After some reorganizing and a fresh outlook for the spring they were ready for the upcoming Burns Park tournaments. The first 2007 tournament was the Winrock Spring Tournament hosted by the Little Rock Futbol Club. The Sparks managed to come away with a 2-2 record finishing in Third Place for their division. A vast improvement over the fall season, a sure sign of things to come.
First Tournament Win!!!
The second tournament they attended was the 2007 Kohl's American Cup State Tournament on May 5th - 6th. After a rocky start in the first game against the Bryant Cheetahs they finished the game with a last minute 2-1 win. The second match against the El Dorado Rowdies ended in a 0-0 standoff, this finishing the first day with a 1-0-1 record.
The second day started with more enthusiasm as they re-matched the Bryant Strykers whom they had played in the Winrock tournament. After a hard fought game and some amazing plays from both teams the Sparks came away with a 1-0 win. Because the top two teams could not be determined before the start of play that morning, the Sparks and Strykers had to play a second game for the division championship. The girls once more stepped up to the challenge and after another grueling match punctuated by more great play they won 3-0 to become the champs.

The Sparks regrouped for the Fall of 2007 and had another tough season. The Spring 2008 junior high scholastic season prevented a regrouping for the spring tournaments.
