Team Rules
We are implementing the following team rules for the upcoming season for two reasons. First, so that we may be more productive in use of the team’s time so as to maximize our effects to improve and be more successful as a team unit. And, more importantly, we should be fair to and courteous toward our fellow teammates. The intent is not to become so rigid as to inhibit our main goal, to enjoy soccer, but to better meet our stated competitive objectives. Game playing time may be affected by a player’s noncompliance.
- Players are to attend all scheduled practices – missing hampers development as a team unit; and, forces repetition of instruction lengthening time required to convey information and is unfair to those who attend.
- Notify a coach by phone.
- State reason for absence.
- Players are expected to be on time and ready for practice at the scheduled times unless previously arranged.
- Players are to arrive to games at least 45 minutes prior to kickoff.
- Players are to be supportive and respectful of teammates
- NO criticism or blame of a teammate – everyone is doing her best for everyone else; none of us intentionally make an error.
- Supportive suggestions, discussions, assistance only.
- Players are to be attentive in practice, not visit individually during instruction sessions, and actively participate in all drills.
- Inattention and visiting in practice not only results in those players missinginformation, but distracts other members from the lesson.
- Disruptive behavior also delays the time it takes to get through drills and instruction which ultimately, as mentioned above, does not allow us to cover all that we need to in our allotted time.
